Nardine Wimmin’s Refuge

Perth WA

Provides short term crisis and refuge accommodation for women, with or without children (boys under 18 years) experiencing or at risk of homelessness due to family or domestic violence or other forms of crisis.

The refuge also provides advocacy, referrals, and assistance in obtaining long term housing, information, and emotional and practical support.

Zonta House Refuge Association

Perth WA

Provides crisis and support accommodation for women aged 18 years or older, without children, who have been impacted by family or domestic violence or other forms of crisis.

Assistance is also provided in resourcing transitional accommodation if needed.

Does not provide accommodation for pets, but does assist in finding foster owners for pets in crisis situations.

Perth Inner City Youth Service Household Network (PICYS)

22 Blencowe Street, West Leederville WA 6007

The PICYS supports young people aged 16 – 25 who are either experiencing or at risk of homelessness by providing medium to long term transitional accommodation for up to 12 months and assisting them in the transition towards independent living.

PICYS also provides several services including income and budgeting assistance, employment, education, counselling, and support in relation to drug/alcohol abuse, mental health issues, parenting, relationships and sexuality, living skills, and advocacy as well as family mediation.

Ngnowar Aerwah Safe House – Wyndham – Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation

Wyndham WA 6740

The Safe House provides crisis accommodation to women, with or without children (boys up to 10), impacted by family and domestic violence or other forms of crisis.

The Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation also offers various other services including community centre programs, advocacy, drug and alcohol counselling and rehabilitation, and family support.

Milliya Rumurra

Millya Rumurra is a non-government residential centre in Broome that provides treatment and rehabilitation to Aboriginal people wishing to address their drug and alcohol use.

The centre’s rehabilitation program is for a minimum of 12 weeks with the possibility of extension. A sobering-up shelter is also available.

Magnolia Women’s Centre

Northam WA

The refuge provides crisis and support accommodation for women, with or without children (boys up to the age of 18), escaping family or domestic violence.

Referrals for medical, financial, legal and transport assistance are also available if required.

Support workers are available to assist with education about domestic and family violence, goal setting, and safety plans, there is also a child support worker on site.

Koolkuna Women’s Refuge

Provides crisis and refuge accommodation for women, with or without children, experiencing or at risk of homelessness due to family or domestic violence or other forms of crisis.

The refuge also provides various services including:

– Case management
– Support and safety planning
– Basic counselling
– Practical assistance in the form of emergency relief for food and other essential items
– Transport to and support during appointments
– Assistance in obtaining and transferring to long term accommodation
– Child-rearing education
– Family Fun Programmes.

Kira House – Rise

Perth WA 6000

Provides short term crisis accommodation for women aged 14 to 18 years with or without children experiencing or at risk of homelessness due to family or domestic violence or other forms of crisis.

Service operates 24hrs, 7 days a week

We’re understanding of young women in crisis who have pets, and we’d encourage you to call the RSPCA to look after pets during your crisis. Once you find a place to call home you can get your pet back: Call them now at (08) 9209 9300.
